Kuala Keniam, Taman Negara XIII

DSC_16460084T.jpg An official research trip to Kuala Keniam was done in conjunction to a research workshop activity at Travelers Home at Kuala Tahan. A total of 15 researchers from the University congregate for discussion over research publication.

Hutan Lipur Ulu Kanching, Rawang

DSC_08650008T.jpgWe drove off for the high waterfall at Hutan Lipur Ulu Kanching near Rawang. Hutan Lipur Kanching, is a forest reserve which is located 21 km north of Kuala Lumpur in between Selayang and Rawang and next to the famous Templers Park.

Chamang Waterfall, Bentong

DSC_08040061T.jpgOur outing this weekend is headed towards Bentong town in the state of Pahang, to treck up the jungle along the Chamang waterfall. From the East-West Karak Highway, take a left turn into the inner trunk road and the next right turn heading pass the Bentong Town. A big signboard will indicate a left turn towards the Chamang Waterfall. A 10-kilometer bitumen road, which meanders along the river within its basin, takes visitors to a car park in the middle of a forest reserve.

Taman Negara - Revisited X

DSC_91580341T.jpg28 - 31 March 2008.    Since our last research trip to Taman Negara in June 2007, the weather of the wet monsoon season during the second half of the year has not been very favourable for us to be back in action in the rainforest of Taman Negara for quite a while. Heavy evening rain and the threat of flooding has constantly prevented us pursuing our exploration passion.

Kuching, Sarawak

Ulu Bendul Recreational Forest

DSC_54530068T.jpg  Heading south on the North-South Expressway from Kuala Lumpur, at the Port Dickson (Seremban) Interchange (Interchange 219), go down route 51 to Kuala Pilah. Ulu Bendul is located 16km down this route. It's a roughly one hour and 20 minutes drive from the Negeri Sembilan state capital, Seremban.

Bukit Gasing - Revisited VI

Kuala Selangor Nature Park - Revisited III

Pulau Langkawi

DSC_14850302T.jpg The weekend trekking decision ended up with taking a 45 minutes flight from KL, traveling up north of the Peninsular of Malaysia to the Island of Pulau Langkawi, off the state of Kedah. The visit was in conjunction with another official trip there, but yours truly and two other hardcore naturetracker did manage to sneak in some time to tour the island.

Kuala Gandah - Revisited II
